is there a way to get new items to build?
I suggest you download a mod that someone has created, they often make many new items in there. My personal favorite is Massive Mod.

also if u play on random island can u travel on the sea to get to another island?
Generally on random island there is only one island. If there are more then they will be really small and this only happens when you choose a Large map size.

i looked up item combinations and i still don't know how to make all items.......
I recommend you look on the forum for Stranded II Mod Viewer, it can show you a list of all possible combinations as well as other features in an easily readable format.
