Have done my best to search the forum for this problem and have looked through various 'help me' threads but didn't want to spoil the game.

I downloaded and was playing this without any issues on my main pc yesterday and today decided to install it on my laptop too, but when playing adventure mode the screen stays constantly blured and the first diary entry never comes up.

I did a bit of snooping around in the level editor and the triggers are there and the times are set for them to go off, but the time they are set for comes and goes without anything happening.

Running a intel dual core laptop with windows xp x86.
Downloaded from rapidshare mirror linked from stranded 2 download page.
Installed with all default options. (have also tried with the win 7 fix exe file, (main pc is win 7) makes no difference)
No idea whats wrong, anyone got ideas?

edit: just made a hammer and the diary entry for that comes up fine, but the screen is still blured. tried sleeping and it made no difference.
