No, it just plays with only 2 players. Which of them, I don't know.
If you stuck, and "everything is stopped", it means that noone joined.
Maybe your map differs from the server's. Try to create your own server. All my words below is related to multiplayer.exe stuff. If you are trying to join with -connect.bat, I cant help you
