Is like you named your factory Fart. Is like you call your Business Fart. Is how you name anything you did - a fart. How it's even related to anything you doing? Well, if it's just a random shit-name then it's okay. Otherwise anything you did here - nothing more than just a fart, and anything happening here is fart.

I'd be a little offended to be a part of Fart community/devs. And the funniest thing is that you believe this is perfect idea, lol

If you still believe - then Fart is totally ideal name for this community and your job.

broccolabs.com and that fancy broccoli-fart thing (perfect mascot, we can call it Brocco; it has word "bro" in it, so you can be sure we are friendly here!) as a logo? If it is green, it will perfectly fit actual design of the site.

I much prefer the artstyle as a broccoli over the previously suggested name. I quite liked the logo sketch that was made but the name is off.

Funky Fart is indeed a good name, but not for a gaming community and neither for a game developer. It's only good for a website about fart jokes or something else of the same type.

I understand you believe it's the perfect name, but you have to realize that it simply doesn't fit this community at all. Maybe you aren't thinking much about the long term... I'm pretty sure later down the road you would regret your decision if you went with Funky Fart, for the following reasons:

1) As stated earlier, it does not fit the community at all. It has nothing to do with games. And I don't think it's that generic due to how limiting the name itself feels, it also feels out of place when you put it in the pespective of a gaming community.

2) It can be funny at first, maybe cute too... But at the end of the day, farts are part of toilet humor which is most of the time bottom of the barrel in joke tier. Fart is not only a negative word, but it's also disgusting (no offense). And to add insult to injury, it's not really a negative word you can shine a positive light on. Think about it, when was a fart ever something positive? Pretty much never.

3) It's true that you have to like the name yourself, but your audience must also like it or at least be neutral toward it. Almost everyone here dislikes Funky Fart, just that is a big red flag and means it's a terrible idea. It's extremely important that the members do not dislike the name that represents them.

You own the community and you can do whatever you want with it, no one is contesting that. But the thing is, you didn't make this community only for yourself, you also made it for everyone who is a member here. And they too must like the name that represents them. Fart is a bad word choice, no matter how you look at it.

To choose and go with a name that almost everyone dislikes is something a bad admin would do. You are not a bad admin, so don't do that mistake.

I'm sure you can come up with a better name. But no farts or anything disgusting. Use a better, funny and more positive word. Funky is alright.

Well, I can only add one more post here. There is an old saying . . . "if it ain't broke don't fix it." Something to live by in my opinion.

If there is something broke here at Unreal, then I am not truly aware of it. Unreal Software has age, web prestige, and a seemingly growing community. With even some huge pr with Steam recently. I believe a lot of people have come to know Unreal Software as a brand (it is branded in my mind).

Sure we can live with changing the name, we are already here. But new comers will be few and far between for a long time coming, as it will set this "place" back 10 steps. Will be a while before google picks up the name and people "stumble" on Funky Fart from some far out corner of the web where someone posted a rare link. I would expect it to slow down community progress, and launching anything under the name Funky Fart would be harder. (if the size of the crowd receiving what your launching makes any difference to you) Stranded 3 being launched from Funky Fart just doesn't sit right, with me anyways.

It's not the "name" Funky Fart that I see as a potential pitfall (it IS a good name, but), it's changing the name to anything else at all, I see potentially losing 5-8 years of progress, and a slow down period lasting months or even years.

P.S. So, if this goes forward and it becomes another name, it might be good to "re-direct" Unreal Software to the New Site Name. This will help keep "some" integrity with the hundreds, and maybe thousands, of Unreal Software links spread across the web that keep bringing the people who are coming here...coming here.

@ JasJack67: Except that he stated in the first post what's broken about Unreal Software and that he is quite unhappy, Even though I like the name Unreal Software I kind of agree with him given the stated reasons.

Although in my personal opinion of course, I disliked the name Funky Farts because it really doesn't give a serious impression, and I negatively relate the word Farts to really immature jokes with no punchline to it at all and the way this community is moderated I think it would feel wrong.

While I'm not very good with coming up with names, I just don't want people relating it to immature jokes and completly take you guys as a joke.
