Hello!

Today, I would like to make a new thread (yeah, I know, why?!) about our best memories of CS2D all time.

I used to play during winter holiday with CS2D many years ago, like 2010 and I have been played on Happy Camper's Christmas Server. It was really awesome, the whole mood, just perfect. I remember, when connected to this server, after like 5 minutes was already first with many kills

The second one, when played Happy Town and kids said please no-kill, open door!

Anyway, I believe CS2D did not die, especially now, it should b e new ERA. Hopefully, with CS2D Steam Greenlight there will be some new players to fill the servers.

What about you? Share your best memories with CS2D, so we can make this thread great!

Was making my first Outlast 1 map that I was going to open a thread for. I don't know why but it was so much fun and still is

I must have more memories, but can't really remember now. One more thing I remember was, I did a few clan wars on a shotgun map a long ago. They were really exciting.

Other than that, I've been boring all the time among these shit servers

Coop missions, construction mode + zombie mode, talking with friends, role playing. Ahh... those days. Now you can hardly see anyone online right now.

Discovering a multiplayer mode in 2008. Damn I still remember my face expression when I accidently changed the filters to show all the servers

Discovering the construction mode in 2008 as well. Funny is that it was accidental. I was on de_aztec playing versus bots when suddendly I press the right mousekey and it poped up a menu for me.
Damn exciting times learning what cs2d is.

Also I miss 2013 psK clan, good times playing in mixes.
(I also miss a lot of my friends that quitted this game)

The good old days of 2010 when I was playing solo, and then discovered multi player... Those were the times when the best players of CS2D were there... I can remember playing an rp server while drinking coke... when CS2D was a living game... Oh, I sure miss those old days...

When CS:2D's servers were all fulfilled of players, we had a lot of fun back then.

When I was on ACID clan with matt & Timur, those players were so great with me on the past, they were my best team-mates on CS:2D, wish they would come back.

When Yakuza & iLLusioN were still owning some badass clans with me, those were the greatest times I've spent on my 2D career, those memories will still remain on my soul.

Uh, let's see... My best memoriesss... yay!

Well, it was an amazing time, when servers were fullfilled with people interested in playing many amazing game modes, custom lua coded modes etc.

I definitely loved Jailbreak, because of the awesome maps and cool transitions (first you have to find an escape route, then you also need to get into a vehicle, but it needs fuel etc. and then you drive away etc.). Jailbreak maps were amazing.

Not to mention the custom co-op campaign maps, where you had to escape from swarming demons and at the end you had to fight unstopable bosses that kept shooting lasers at you... that was like a new dimension of CS2D for me.

Aswell, one of my favourite all-timers was Zombie Plague mod, there was a map from cs 1.6, the toxic house or something between those lines, basically there was a house with door that had to be broken out and the building had several floors (underground graveyard, first floor and the second floor)... It was a "cherry on an icecream" aka my favourite ZP CS2D map of all time.

On top of all, I just loved making maps, drawing tilesets and just doing everything to make cool maps... my style basically was - neon lights, because I liked those surf maps in CS:Source, with futuristic designs, so I tried making something similar, but my style varied, but passion for level editor never stopped. Something that I was addicted to, a bit, was making drawbridges with animation, where a bridge actually raises on a button press, because nobody else did them. I also had tons and tons of unfinished maps, that I lost hope off and got bored of making + didn't really look that good and weren't designed well, so I just archived them together and posted on internet... But all in all, editor was fun

There were also Multigame, Pokemon, Roleplay servers ... and, well, some were good, some not so. I was a bit interested in roleplays though, but realised that there isn't much to do and most of the stuff and housing is restricted to VIP members. Meanwhile pokemon servers we're just boring (better go play WoW) with some silly png lua scripted monsters appearing once in a century and could be killed with like 3 hits and that was mostly it, and neither did they respawn, neither we're there quests or any point other than getting fancy wings and flying across the map + the fact that your stuff kept dissapearing from safe

Lol... there's way too much lighting and way too less to do, a bit disaster of a map, but I just wanted to make something crazy a few years ago: IMG:https://files.gamebanana.com/img/ss/maps/147986a.jpg

FPSBanana! The first map was uploaded there.

Yes lol... I myself actually never posted any of my maps anywhere... except for that crappy laser arena and a map pack that I left behind ... I in fact had some nice mission maps on my old PC, but it was wiped clean

I have similar memories to this! Wonderful server!
CS2D around Christmas time was a pleasant experience as players usually had more free time and so the servers filled up. There was this short song on a Christmas map which I don't remember the name that went something like "(...) a wonderful Christmas time". It sounded like an old(-ish) American song. If anyone can find the original song where that was sampled from that'd be great, for nostalgia's sake.

--- Edit
• Found it! Well, at least the original. I don't remember exactly but from memory the one in the CS2D xmas map sounded slightly different. Maybe a cover or the pitch/tempo was edited.

Really good old times .
Also I've played a lot of mixs, got some decent clans thanks to paz and zenden (they don't play this game anymore) and that's it. PCS pub servers were the best back to 2010.

My best memories are from when I ran my own server, I think it was in 2011. It was so full for its first few months that I occasionally had to kick a random bloke via RCon just so I could join it.
