There's a lot of stuff to talk about, I see.
I was going to reply to every sentence I disagree with individually, but I don't really want to waste an entire page that could be used for actual content. (which is coming soon btw)

I'll try to keep it short and simple.
Most people here (including DC) agree that most of the default maps have to be remade. This does NOT mean we have to change their lay-out drastically or change any game mechanics along with them. CS2D is easily accessible and allows for competitive gameplay. This is all we need.

If you want to talk about weapon recoil, go here:
thread cs2d Ideas for CS2D - READ THE FIRST POST (OP)!

Okay. Moving on.
I've been struggling a bit to recreate de_mirage and de_nuke, so I'll focus on the default maps that need a remake instead.
Expect to see the following maps soon:
de_dust, cs_office, ctf_cs2dfortress

Tell me what you think. Feedback of any kind is appreciated.
(Do keep in mind that these maps are remakes of the default ones and none of them are actually finished yet)

Great remakes and the hard work you do so far, I highly appreciate it. By the way, on as_mars in Terrorists base the energy generators look like blocks instead of a real energy generator in my humble opinion. The overall of the rest of maps are truly brilliant.

Argh. My ISP is shit. It just doesn't let me see Imgur images. So please user smn, upload the images somewhere else. I'm dying to see your maps.

@user Pagyra: It's not detailed because the main objective of the maps is only override the default, while maintaining its milder form and possible playable, counting on it, they are great maps, and in my opinion, should rather be made standard, different the project I'm almost done (last map), the up_ maps, Its main objective, the realism, with extras and heavy details.

I don't know, but user smn map is nice. Just nice. But I will like it more if you added a bit of prop like papers, cans and wine bottles?

Plus: I like the way you make the paths in dust series.

Boring... because it not detailed.

You're right.
That's because none of the maps are finished yet. My plan was to make tilesets and general layout for all of the maps first, then move on to detailing. I haven't reached the last step just yet.

The only two maps where I added a reasonable amount of detail are dust2_smn and inferno_smn, which also explains comments like this:

I liked de dust2 smn version only.

Just be patient, I won't upload anything until it's actually done. Remember that this is a development thread, not a showcase of finished products.
Of course, there may well be things that are not only unfinished, but actually wrong. I'd be more than happy to fix them if you can point them out for me. As I mentioned before, I'm not the most experienced mapper, but I do think I learn quickly and know what looks good and what doesn't.

Thanks for the positive feedback as well, guys. It really helps.

I think the details are quite important because the map looks way too clean without them! They are a huge improvement in my opinion! Great work!
