Stranded II General "I'm stuck / how to do XY" threadnote: the net is not required at all. you can just catch him by aiming and pressing e, but this is much harder because you have to be closer if you don't use a net.
Use a DOT (damage over time) attack on them like a poison arrow or claw spear. Hit one and move to the next one from the safety of the water. Fire-arrow the nests; some nests will require going on land to see them. You can exterminate most of the raptors and their nests in one pass doing this. Don't bother to fire-arrow the raptors themselves, since they like to go into the water while chasing you.
Or
Use height of terrain to your advantage. Your bows and spears shoot a lot flatter (and thus further) downhill, then uphill or on level terrain. Retreat up the mountain side while shooting to give yourself a little more time.
Or
Get them hung up on terrain. Stranded II animals in general seem to hang on terrain, but where the tops of the trees get close to hilltops, the raptors can really get stuck. Arbalests use such cheap (easy to make) ammo that you can spray them and not care at all that most of your ammo is wasted on the tree. This is really more of an exploit than a strategy.
Good weapons are important, but it's easy to underestimate how important tactics are when you start playing. You can take down a lion with a slingshot & pebbles. You can take down claw monkeys with bare fists. Like everything else in Stranded, the key is experimenting (and being willing to die). This game has a lot of depth.

You can do it with I think 10 goldnugets and cord... I think..
And about the arrows. Fire-branch feather cotton. Poison branch feather, poison...
Sailrafts are an amazing raptor-hunting platform. You can fire while driving the thing. Raptors don't run up-and-down the shore bank like they usually do when you are in the water -- they just move back and forth on the water edge.
Pulling off a sail-raft on Island 3 would be interesting. You'd plan on getting the 10 logs and 30 branches from the island. Fire-arrow enough trees from the sea to get 13 logs (3 to split) -- it'd be feasible. You'd practically have to haul in the skins (12.5 Kg). There is cotton there, but you'd be better off just bringing in the cord (150 g) to save hunting about for it. If you didn't want to screw around gathering the vines there either, that would be another 15 Kg, for a total of 27.15 Kg to haul in. That'd take 53 butterflies, which isn't that crazy. Heck, now I'm going to have to play that far again just for the humor value.
-- Edit -- It's fun, but doesn't radically change the difficulty of the level.

GuestBTW: Big problem with the new Stranded II. I could play the first gold version but I just dled this new version (I've been out of the Stranded loop for a while) and when I start it up, it acts as if my monitor's off. I can hear music and click things but the screen is black.
I just downloaded it, couldn't get it to work at first but now it's fine. But how does the mining work? It says you get mining xp when you mine but this doesn't seem to happen for me?

tame animals with throwing food in near to them... for exampel a ape, throw bananas in front of it, so it begins to eat them. If the ape like "glows" then it reached the first round of being tamed
by first round what do you mean? what does it take to get a raptor or a lion?
The vine, when used as a whip, only serves as weapon. It won't do anything else.
You tame monkeys by throwing bananas to them. Make the monkey eat enough bananas to get tamed.
Then you can build a monkey school and turn a tamed monkey into a transport monkey, by using 15 bananas.
You can tame raptors by throwing big raw pieces of meat at them. A tamed raptor lets you ride on it.
And no, you can't tame lions.
