Projects Stranded III Dev. Blog - Comments*The other thing is, that it shouldn't have Any inventory, if you don't have any pocket or bag, but for building it could use the near dropped items as well (like in "UnReal world")
*The other thing is the ability to build some kind of pushable things with own capacity, independently from character skills, but still weight should be limited from the strenght of character (or animal).
*And one more thing, it should be like that that you are exausting your self more, when you are carrying more things (like in "UnReal World")
I don't plan to make the interface resizeable atm. (I noted that drawing a huge list of items with Lua is quite slow. Hopefully I find a way to speed things up)
There might be an option to let bars (health/hunger/thirst) just pop up for a short while when they change significantly and/or reach certain key levels. All the other time they will stay hidden then unless you open a menu showing them.
This is no big thing which needs to be discussed though. There will be enough options to configure stuff as desired. Independent from the difficulty level (if there even will be different levels).
Yes, gloves/hands and equipped weapon/tool are different slots.
Amulet/ring slots might be a good idea. There is actually no real reason not to implement them.
Yes, the backpack will occupy both shoulder slots while a shoulder bag will occupy just one slot, allowing two shoulder bags OR a backpack but not all 3 things at the same time. Each player equipment slot can hold none or one item but not more.
(However Stranded III theoretically allows to store items in items so there is still enough freedom to extend this... e.g.: the belt might have little bags stored in it [done by upgrading it somehow] and the capacity of those is added to the overall capacity of the player when the belt is equipped)
Bags can be replaced or might also be upgradeable, right.
I also thought about the WoW principle (I played the WoW beta years ago) of having different bags but it's easier (for me and for players) to keep everything in one single inventory. The capacity of this inventory is simply the sum of all bag capacities.
This is totally unrealistic but it simplifies the inventory system a lot.
However I'm considering to change this. Having one inventory for each bag gives me a lot of very cool opportunities. Like stealing/losing/trading entire bags for example.
@ Starkkz: The Unity GUI isn't very good (at least the current version. They said they will replace it). It shouldn't be used for the in-game interface. You will have your own commands to draw your own interface. The original interface is rendered the same way.
@ AssassinLV:
Yes, you will have one overall max weight which only depends on the player skills/perks
I didn't think about not having any inventory at all, but you are right, that's the logical consequence. However the player will probably not start nude and wear at least trousers with small pockets for some stuff.
So basically carts which already have been suggested... don't know if something like this will be in the game.
Yes, you will get exhausted faster when running or won't be able to run at all when you carry too much/too heavy stuff.

I'm not planning to add seasons. It's playing on a tropical island. But it surely wouldn't be a big problem to add seasons with scripts.
- And the stranded III, you could make a digestion system, like when the character eat something, to pass time, a message appears saying, you need you need to shit or piss, and have a button for that. (It is only an idea)
stop spamming this thread with your shit, just wait until DC is ready with SII (watch the other threads)
that it will be way better and more realistic than S2.I can't wait for S3. It take time. So for now, all I can say is Awesome!
